45-747-B - Lonesome Guitar   (Starday Music)

BRITE STAR RECORDS 747
Mt Vernon, IN

Label owned by Floyd Wiseman. The Brite Star Label is a little confusing. A fre months from this release, they issue another which then continues it's numbering series. Some arepressed by Rite of Cincinnati, OH, whereas some labels are printed by King Records. The general agreement is that if it's published by Starday (or one of its custom publishing affiliates), then it counts as a Starday Custom Pressing. However, other records on different labels fill in the gaps in the numbering series. Since the next one isn't until #763, then we can deal with it then.

HOBO RECORDS 745

DEAN EVANS
Oct 58   (BB Rev = 15th Dec 1958)
45-745-A - One Boy, One Girl   (Bayou State / La-Dee BMI)
(D Evans - H Miller)
45-745-B - Unfinished Castle   (Bayou State / La-Dee BMI)
(D Marais - G Elliott)
HOBO RECORDS 745
Box 6305, Shreveport, LA

First in a small line of records pressed in and around Louisiana that were published by Bayou State BMI. The labels of these are of a slightly different design, which makes me wonder if the labels were printed elsewhere.

Underneath these labels is a label shot sent from a guy called Apes Ville. This looks more like a Satrday Custom, judging by the label. Which makes me wonder if the green label was a second pressing. It does look newer than the blue label.

The only thing I could find about this record, apart from the fact that the "Pine Mountain Boogie" is an excellent primitive country rocker, is finding a death notice for an Arvel Lewis in Fort Lauderdale, FL - so i'm not even sure if it's the same guy. 634 King Pressing.
