Junior bows back into the series with two well-recorded sides. Both are pretty much country music, but that was what was selling in bucket loads around the time the 45 hit the stores.The B side has a nice up-tempo feel with some nice bright piano playing, but again, Junior's vocals are a bit "sweet" for this die-hard Rock-A-Billy fanatic. But, saying that, both sides are worth more than a few listens.

Both are typical "Nashville Country" sounding country ballads. Both Jay and Willard have nice voices, but they're a bit dreary (for me). Jay wrote both sides, so perhaps Willard was a member of the band or a guest vocalist for the session.

I'm guessing you'd describe the top side as a country lament. Not something that would keep me awake staring at e-bay whilst the clock runs down on a bid. 
Flipside is more of the same, yet is the better side. Great harmonies between Jim and Bill, but it's a bit monotone. (I say that about most country records however so don't take my word for it.) Once again, King Records (Crown Plastics) takes over the pressing duty from Starday.

Top side is a nice "Cashy" bopper with Floyd's lazy vocals supported by some fine guitar and fiddle. Flip is more country than anything else and although it's well recorded - it doesn't match the top side really. I know nothing about Floyd "Missouri" Walker sadly.

Solid bluegrass from the King Brothers. Top side is a mid-tempo bluegrass shuffle with good harmonies and some fine banjo picking. Flip is a fast fiddle and banjo instrumental workout. Fiddles have a nice bluegrass-cum-cajun sound to them. The banjo player's fiery licks almost melts the record! Another King Pressing.

A slight back in the hills sound to the recordings, but it's a nice 45rpm. Probably could do without the "Cowboy..." song as it doesn't do much for me. But tribute songs usually did well locally, so I can't blame him for that. Eddie's got a great voice when he's not doing the recitation bit.

The flip is a good guitar instrumental. Nothing outstanding but it's got a nice bit of "Primitive" about it. (Could do without the electric rhythm though as it's a bit loud). Is this Eddie playing guitar or one of his band members? Maybe Harry C Johnson as he wrote this side (or at least he has the writers credits.) A bit unusual for somebody to write an instrumental and not play it himself.
