BEVERLY RECORDS 581

BEVERLY RECORDS
Kinston, NC
THE SOUTHERN SPIRITUALS
Aug 56 (BMI clearance on 2nd Nov 56)
45-581-A - Since I Laid My Burden Down
(No info) (Golden State BMI)
45-581-B - If I Leave
(No info) (Golden State BMI)

Another disc I have yet to hear or see. I have found three more discs on the label.

Another Day's Journey / The Love Of God  (Beverly 747)
Just A Little While To Stay Here / There Is Rest  (Beverly 748)
When I Get Inside / Must jesus Bear The Cross (Beverly 781)

I am assuming these discs are by the same group, but none of them seem to be Starday Customs.
I'd also like to add, Beverly 747 is one of these "jf" pressings I have come across every now and then and, like Starday Custon 503, published by Don Carlos Music. Anyone have any ideas where these came from?(MC).

  1. One Beverly not listed and certainly in the Starday Custom Series is Beverly 702 by the Kool Toppers.

    I've posted details here:

  2. Hi. That is true, but as I'm trying to keep them in numerical order, I haven't reached that one yet. At least I have the music for 702; I have not heard any of the Southern Spirituals releases as yet. Hopefully we will all live long enough for me to finally reach the end of the Starday Custom Series Blog :-) Malcolm

  3. Howdy! The wolf-Tex singles (Harold Montgomery, Herman Stone, etc.) are also published by Don Carlos. Mack Stevens
